When I decided it was time to transform my relationship with money and put myself on the path to building generational wealth, I did the inner work first.

Changing my mindset and belief system took a lot of effort. It required a seismic shift in how I thought about life, work, and money.

Luckily, there were plenty of teachers to learn from and I clung to their words of wisdom when doubt and fear made me want to retreat.

Maybe you’re where I was back then. If so, I hope you find inspiration in these quotes.

1. The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe. — Albert Einstein

This quote is a glorious reminder of two essential truths: 1) mindset is a choice, and 2) what I choose to see becomes my reality.

2. No one knows enough to be a pessimist. — Wayne Dyer

I use this quote like an affirmation whenever I catch myself veering into the negative or worrying about the future.

3. A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play; his labor and his leisure; his mind and his body; his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing, and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself, he always appears to be doing both. — L.P. Jacks

This is the most powerful quote I’ve read about what it means to find real work/life harmony.

4. If you get the inside right, the outside will fall into place. — Eckhart Tolle

I love this quote because it reminds me to search internally for solutions before I seek them from other people or external conditions.

5. You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you. — Maya Angelou

This message rings true for me because every time I stop doing something for the sake of money and instead do it out of love and in service to others, my internal and external rewards multiply.
